Frequently asked questions

Billing, refunds, licensing and account questions, answered. If yours is not here, the contact page lists who to write to.

Billing & payments

Which payment methods can I use?

Checkout is handled by PayPal. Pay with your PayPal balance or any major credit or debit card. We never see or store your card details. Both subscriptions and one-time purchases are supported, and you can cancel anytime from the customer portal.

Do you charge a one-time fee or a subscription?

Both. Capabilities bill monthly and plans bill monthly or yearly. Add or remove capabilities any time. There is no mid-cycle proration: a change is scheduled, you keep what you have already paid for, and the new selection takes effect on your next paid invoice.

Where do I find my invoices and receipts?

In the customer portal → Billing. Every charge has a downloadable invoice and PDF receipt.

A payment failed or my card was declined. What now?

Update your payment method in the portal and retry. Nothing is lost. If it keeps failing, email billing@lyeve.com and we will resolve it.

How do I cancel?

Cancel any time from Billing. Cancellation stops the next renewal. Your license then keeps working for a 7-day grace period, after which it drops back to the free tier.

Refunds

What is your refund policy?

If you're not happy within 7 days of your first paid charge, email billing@lyeve.com for a full refund. No forms, one line is enough. Full details on the refund policy page.

Are renewal charges refundable?

Recurring renewals aren't refundable unless required by law. Cancel before the renewal date to avoid the next charge. EU and UK consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal from purchase.

Licensing & self-hosting

Is LyEve free?

Yes. The engine is MIT licensed and free to run on your own servers. Leave the license key empty and every free plugin starts. Paid plugins stay off until you add a key.

Is the source code public?

Yes, for the engine and the admin dashboard. Both are MIT-licensed and public at github.com/lyeve-labs/lyeve-core and github.com/lyeve-labs/lyeve-admin. Read the code, fork it, modify and redistribute it, and file issues there. We publish thirteen repositories in all: those two, the eight client libraries, the UI kit, the runnable examples and the benchmark suite. Two further parts are commercial and will stay that way: the license verification module the engine imports, and the plugins, all of them, including the free tier, under the Plugin EULA. What is MIT and what is commercial has the detail.

What does a license key unlock?

Paid plugins are already compiled into the image, and the key you set as LYEVE_LICENSE_KEY activates the ones you bought, on a plan or one at a time. Nothing is downloaded at runtime. A plan or plugin you buy comes with its key, under Billing → License key. Free plugins need none.

How many servers can I run?

As many as you like. A license key carries no instance limit on any plan. An install on a signed token verifies it offline and never reports to us. An install set to your license key contacts our license server to exchange it for a token, so we see that it exists, and nothing about what it runs.

Account & access

I can't log in.

Use Forgot password to reset. If you signed up with GitHub, sign in with GitHub instead. Still stuck? Open a ticket in the portal.

How do I delete my account?

From Settings. Cancel any active subscription first so you aren't billed again.

Still need help?

My question isn't here.

If you have an account, open a tracked support ticket from the portal. We'll already have your plan and order on hand, so there's less back-and-forth. Otherwise see the contact page.
